Skip bins for Kings Forest builds.

Kings Forest is an 869-hectare site on Tweed Coast Road, near Kingscliff, with approval for about 4,500 homes. Stockland agreed to buy it from Leda Holdings in August 2025, and the plans include schools, parks, sporting fields and a retail centre. Only 40 people lived here at the 2021 Census, but the first homesites have now settled and houses are under construction.

New builds and fit-outs

Building sites produce offcuts, packaging and general construction waste, which suits a General Builders bin. A 6m or 9m bin is the usual pick during a build, and the 15m hook bin handles bigger loads. Keep the bin inside the lot boundary where you can, so the street stays clear for other builders.

Smaller blocks, tighter spaces

Homesites here range from about 392 to 610 square metres, so space on the block can be tight once a house is up. A 3m or 4m skip fits more easily on a driveway after handover, for move-in packaging, landscaping offcuts and garage set-ups. Soil from landscaping goes in a Dirt bin of up to 4m.

Approval and Queensland time

A skip on the road, footpath or nature strip needs Tweed Shire Council's Approval to Place a Skip Bin in a Public Place, and council charges a fee. You arrange it and stay responsible for it. Our windows run on Queensland time, an hour behind NSW during daylight saving.

Kings Forest FAQs

Good to know.

How quickly can you deliver a skip bin to Kings Forest?

Book at least 36 hours ahead and we deliver to Kings Forest 2487 on your chosen date, with an AM or PM preference. Book before midday for next-day delivery. Times are Queensland time, an hour behind NSW during daylight saving.

Do I need council approval for a skip bin in Kings Forest?

Not if the bin stays on your own property in Kings Forest. On the road, footpath or nature strip, Tweed Shire Council requires an Approval to Place a Skip Bin in a Public Place, and a council fee applies. You'll need to arrange it, and it's your responsibility.

Which bin suits a new home build?

A General Builders bin takes construction waste like offcuts, packaging and plasterboard scraps. Most house builds use a 6m or 9m bin. Asbestos, tyres, batteries and liquids are banned from every bin.

What size skip do I need for moving in?

Unpacking and setting up a new home usually fills a 3m or 4m skip with boxes, packaging and offcuts. If you're landscaping too, put the soil in a separate Dirt bin, which is capped at 4m because of its weight.
