Skip bins for Casuarina homes.
Building at Casuarina began in 2001 with the Casuarina Beach subdivision, on what Tweed Shire's planning documents call one of the most significant coastal sites zoned for development in New South Wales. Casuarina Way links it north to Kingscliff and south to the smaller Tweed Coast villages. At the 2021 Census, 3,256 people lived here, with a median age of 41.
Newer homes and landscaping
Separate houses make up 71 per cent of Casuarina homes. In a suburb built mostly since 2001, typical jobs are landscaping, garage clear-outs and kitchen or bathroom updates. A 4m skip handles most single projects, and soil goes in a Dirt bin of up to 4m because of its weight.
Townhouses and units
About 16 per cent of homes are townhouses or semi-detached, and 13 per cent are flats or apartments. In a complex, the body corporate decides where a skip may sit on common property. Get their approval first, then choose a size that fits the space.
Council approval for the street
No approval is needed for a skip inside your property line. On the road, footpath or nature strip, Tweed Shire Council requires an Approval to Place a Skip Bin in a Public Place, and a council fee applies. You arrange it and remain responsible.
Queensland time
Our Burleigh Heads yard works on Queensland time, so during NSW daylight saving our delivery windows are an hour behind Casuarina clocks. Plan around it when you pick AM or PM.
Pick your size.
3m³ skip bin
Weekend clean-ups, small bathroom or kitchen renos.
4m³ skip bin
Most popular all-rounder. Suits heavy waste like dirt and brick.
6m³ skip bin
Large house clear-outs and bigger renovation jobs.
Good to know.
How quickly can you deliver a skip bin to Casuarina?
Book at least 36 hours ahead and we deliver to Casuarina 2487 on your chosen date, with an AM or PM preference. Book before midday for next-day delivery. Times are Queensland time, an hour behind NSW during daylight saving.
Do I need council approval for a skip bin in Casuarina?
Not if the bin stays on your own property in Casuarina. On the road, footpath or nature strip, Tweed Shire Council requires an Approval to Place a Skip Bin in a Public Place, and a council fee applies. You'll need to arrange it, and it's your responsibility.
What size skip bin do I need in Casuarina?
A garage clear-out or bathroom update usually fits a 3m or 4m skip. Landscaping with lots of soil needs a Dirt bin, capped at 4m. For a bigger renovation, a 6m or 9m gives you room to work.
Can I put garden waste in a skip?
Yes, in a Green Waste bin, which takes grass, leaves, clippings, trimmings and small branches. It's garden material only, so other rubbish in the load brings a contamination fee.
