Varsity Lakes became a suburb in 2002, when Stephens, Andrews and part of Robina were combined. It is bounded by the Pacific Motorway to the west, Reedy Creek Road to the south, and Mattocks Road and Bermuda Street to the east. Inside those lines are Varsity College on Varsity Parade, the skate park at Janette Green Park and Varsity Lakes railway station beside the motorway.

At the 2021 Census, about 43 per cent of Varsity Lakes homes were separate houses, a third were townhouses or similar, and nearly a quarter were apartments. A house with a double driveway usually has room for a 4m or 6m skip. In a townhouse or apartment complex, the body corporate decides whether a bin can use common property, so ask before booking. Some pockets are reached by laneways such as Provence Lane and Tannerone Lane; if your garage sits off one, make sure the bin can go on your own land without blocking a neighbour.

Typical work here leans towards clear-outs and refreshes: moving house, emptying a garage or storage cage, updating a bathroom or tidying the backyard. A 3m or 4m is often enough for a townhouse, while a full house clear-out suits a 6m. If two weeks won't be long enough, add an extra week or unlimited hire when you book.
